Love these sandals so much I bought a second pair of exact style, color and size. They are dressy enough for night and cute enough for day out. Who can ask for more!! La Plume is one’s of my favorite shoe designers and they offer a great product. Highly recommend them;)I had exact same shoes several years ago and wanted to replace the worn out pair. Unfortunately what used to be pewter color is very different now. There’s no silver in it. Disappointed with the color difference but keeping it for comfortI bought them in navy color. At first they seemed a dream come true for my sensitive and problem feet. But I have a pronounced bunion on one foot and the other foot is after a goofed bunionectomy. The one with the bunion can feel the rough stitching on the edge of the toe strap. Thus a fair warning for bunion sufferers. Still, this shoe is the softest leather shoe I recall having (except for canvas),so I hope to get used to it.I wear 9.5M or European size 40 medium and I have a very low instep. Based on another review I ordered size 41 and it turned out perfect. The length of size 41 is less than 26 cm between toe and heel stitch holes and you really don't want your heel to step on the decorative whip-stitch around the insole. If you are a perfectionist like myself, you'll need fine scissors to clip some threads sticking out or uneven edges of the leather lining. I prefer this over steep prices of high end shoes with leather lining and insoles.Adjustable straps (on Velcro) make them fit any width ... well, sort of; the ends of the straps stick outwards a little on my low arches, so the shoe is not as dressy as I expected. One cannot accommodate all foot widths with one length of the strap without looking odd at the extremes.The insole is made of smooth leather and my right foot makes a squishy sound whenever I lift my heel in the back to make the next step. This may be embarrassing in more formal settings. Hm, the left foot sound is not pronounced. The more I use them, the more this squishy sound bothers me.If the stitches bother me later, I will update my review, but wearing them around my office for a day was OK.I still give these shoes three stars, because they are so soft.I almost didn't write this review. It was like not telling your sister that the ice cream was frozen so you would get seconds before she got there. LOOK GREAT, FEEL GREAT, PERFECT FIT AND VERY ADJUSTABLE, VERY DRESSY, VERY CLASSY. I WANT ANOTHER PAIR. It's on order so I can share how wonderful they are with you now.Not all La Plume shoes have this amount of thick padding in the soles, but the Nina does. It's super comfortable (and easily adjustable to fit the width of your foot). It was such a pleasure to switch from a pair of "normal" sandals to these while I was teaching summer school. Could stand in these all day, and never feel sore. Highly recommend.Update: 1/2013These shoes are still my go-to shoes for work. Standing in these for 8+ hours a day causes absolutely no problems...these are probably my most comfortable pair of shoes.So comfy. Love it. Have several colurs. My foot is narrow. I bought the pewter snake and to me they were a blend of bronze and pewter - very pretty and versatile. Based on what I read in other reviews, I bought 1 size up so I bought 38 instead of a 37 and they were way too big. They were too long and the velcro straps would not hold the shoe to my foot securely. After trying them on at home, I thought they wouldn't fit my foot correctly or comfortably no matter what size.As usual, La Plume fit my wife perfectly-right on size, again! Very nice color and finish...all her La Plume shoes are very well made and thus very durable. Thanks La Plume and Amazon.
