Watch out for what you are ordering. There are two inseam lengths despite the description of a 7" inseam. So, for example, a medium 4/5 means 4.5" inseam, and medium 7 means 7" inseam.Otherwise, these fit exactly as I would expect tri shorts to fit, and my only gripe is that the tag causes a raised seam where it is sewn into the seam, and although I cut the tag out, the raised seam chaffed me. Do not expect them to fit like a bike short. Tri shorts are to be as tight as a swimsuit, and if you don't have a muffin top in them you either (A) have a rock hard core, or (B) you've ordered them too big and you'll be tugging them up.Before ordering I went directly to website to check measurements and the used a tape to check my fit. According to measurements I ordered a small for the marathon coming up. (Yes I know, tri's arent for marathons but I loved the style) When tri shorts arrived they were extremely tight, muffin top tight. I had to stretch them out for a week on a chair before wearing. Day of marathon they felt great! Easy to run in, light weight, didnt absorb water or sweat. Thought the crotch area is a little uncomfortable, like wearing a menstrual pad the entire 26miles, if you can handle that. Overall the material felt great, soft & smooth, I was impressed with everything 2xu offers! Order one size larger if you dont have time to exchange item.These fit well, and didn't ride up, but the pad in them is stiff. I've never used shorts with any kind of padding, and bought these because other reviewers said the padding was minimal, but I found it to be pretty annoying. I used these for a short tri (700m swim, 19m bike, 4m run), and they stayed fairly wet after the swim. It took most of the bike ride to dry completely, on a sunny day in California. I think I'd rather be a little saddle sore next time. The little pockets are nice, though - just the right size for a Gu pack.I really like these shorts. I've been training in them for two weeks now and they've survived two 30+ mile rides and 5-6 swims. The inside stitching on the thigh seam rubs a tiny bit. I sized up based on size charts and reviews. I wish I'd bought a Medium. I was right at the top edge of the medium range and sized up to a large, which I never do. Oh well, they look great and feel good. Plus, the price was fab!These shorts are great. However, they advertise them as being 7 inch inseam, and 4 1/2 inseam showed up. I would LOVE them if I had gotten what I ordered.Also, these definitely have more padding in the seat and are better for longer distance tris. No point wearing them for a sprint. The extra padding takes longer to dry out. I was still feeling very wet everywhere have a sprint tri yesterday.I'm giving this 3 stars as the seams are not in the ideal place. I have had 2XU shorts in the past and don't remember this issue. The seams are exactly where your butt and legs hit the saddle and compared to other seamless chamois I have, it's very noticeable especially on longer rides. Otherwise the leg length and grips on the legs are great.I don't have any other experience with trying shorts, so I don't have any comparison, but for me these are great! The fit is right, the colors accurately represented by the pictures, and they do their job!I love the brand and usually don’t have issues but with this one I don’t love the fitting. It’s tied in some areas and loose in others. It’s ok, not great.
